Welcome toVice District
One city. Thousands of stories.
A persistent coastal roleplay city built around jobs, businesses, property, vehicles, factions, events and a deliberately scarce $VDX economy. The city comes first — the token is one layer inside it.
Target platforms
Rockstar-authorised community roleplay tooling currently exists on PC, which makes it our primary build target.
Listed as a target only. Console community-server support must exist and be permitted before we can confirm it.
Target platforms: PlayStation 5 + PC. Platform availability depends on permitted community/server tooling, and nothing here is a confirmed release commitment.

Pick a life, not a class
Vice District has no character classes. You choose what to do with your days in the city, and the city responds — licences, contacts, reputation and money all follow the life you actually live.
Citizen
Start with nothing but an ID. Take shifts, learn the districts, build a name.
Entrepreneur
Register a business, hire players, manage stock and payroll, chase margins.
Mechanic
Repairs, tuning, towing contracts and a garage that other players depend on.
Police / EMS
Whitelisted service work: patrols, investigations, emergency response, rank progression.
Property owner
Buy, upgrade, rent and resell property. Own storage, own leverage.
Trader
Read the marketplace, move goods and vehicles, profit on spreads instead of wages.
Faction member
Fictional organised crime: territory, reputation, risk and consequence.
Work first. VDX last.
Ordinary city work pays City Credits — the currency of rent, fuel, stock and wages. VDX sits at the very top of the loop and is reached slowly, through reputation and difficulty, never through idling.
- 01
Work
Take jobs, run shifts, serve customers, answer calls.
- 02
Earn City Credits
Ordinary wages that cover rent, fuel, stock and daily life.
- 03
Build reputation
Reliability and standing unlock better districts, roles and clients.
- 04
Unlock rare contracts
High-reputation contracts, tournaments and seasonal events open up.
- 05
Earn scarce VDX
Only the top layer of the economy pays VDX, and it pays slowly.
- 06
Spend VDX
High-value server systems: premium property, rare vehicles, elite business licences.
The machinery behind the city
Every system below is in design or development. None of it is live yet — this is what the city is being built to run.
Persistent character progression
One character, one history. Licences, skills, contacts, criminal record and reputation persist between sessions and shape what the city lets you do.
Legal jobs and careers
Cab runs, freight, docks, construction, hospitality, delivery and salaried city work — the everyday backbone that pays City Credits.
Police / EMS / whitelist roles
Whitelisted emergency and civil services with applications, training and internal rank structures. Roleplay standards are enforced, not implied.
Player-owned businesses
Garages, restaurants, studios, security firms and clubs run by players, with staff, stock, payroll and performance that feeds the wider economy.
Real estate and property
Apartments, houses, warehouses and commercial units with deeds, storage, upgrades and a resale market between citizens.
Vehicles, dealership, tuning, towing
Owned vehicles with paperwork, a dealership market, performance and cosmetic tuning, impound, insurance and a working towing trade.
Criminal factions & high-risk contracts
Organised fictional factions, territory pressure and scripted high-risk city storylines. Purely in-world fiction — no real-world methods, ever.
Nightlife and clubs
Venues, DJ nights, guest lists and door teams. The coastal night economy is a real income stream for the players who run it.
Player marketplace
A city-wide market for goods, vehicles, property and services, priced by players rather than by a shop menu.
Seasonal events & tournaments
Recurring city seasons: street tournaments, races, heist windows, festivals and leaderboard chases with rare rewards.
Reputation and level system
Reputation gates the good work. Contracts, districts, roles and rare contracts unlock as your standing in the city rises.
City Credits + scarce VDX
City Credits pay ordinary wages and daily life. VDX is the rare, high-value layer reserved for milestones, tournaments and top-end assets.
A currency you have to earn
300,000,000 VDX — 30% of total supply — is reserved for Vice District Server Rewards, distributed to players inside the city over time. There is no idle farming and no daily faucet. VDX exists because the server economy needs a scarce top layer, not the other way around.
- 30% server reward allocation
Reserved for players, distributed over time through gameplay, reputation and events — not a hidden team allocation.
- Milestones & special contracts
Reputation-gated contracts and city milestones are the main VDX faucets.
- Tournaments & seasonal events
Seasonal competition pays rare VDX prize pools instead of City Credits.
- Player-business performance
Well-run player businesses can qualify for VDX performance rewards.
- 0.1% burn on qualifying trades
Qualifying VDX-settled market trades route 0.1% to a burn wallet as an economy-balancing measure.
